Grand Designs is back for a new series after the property show celebrated 20 years on screen. Hosted by Kevin McCloud, the show follows homeowners as they attempt to build unique and daring properties. Viewers were sure to be on the edge of their seats as one couple attempted to build their dream home in a risky location in the first episode of the series. How will they get on? Giving themselves a budget of £250,000, former structural engineer, Andy Stakes, and textile industry expert, Jeanette Hardy, plan to build their dream home. The show followed the pair as they attempt to build the house on a cliff edge on the west coast of Scotland. The property, which they will build 100 feet above the sea and jagged rocks, is planned to be two bedrooms and have a glass front. On the programme, viewers saw Andy and a small team battle poor weather conditions to build the modern house. However, it was not without challenges as the construction site was in a dangerous location and they battled the extreme weather conditions.
